Hummingbird Presentation

Attendees will learn about the Ruby-throated Hummingbird, the only hummingbird in Northern Virginia. The instructor will cover the unique features of hummingbirds, as well as specific information about the Ruby-throated Hummingbird, including migration, mating, nesting, and fledging. Attendees will also learn about this hummingbird’s preferred habitat and the most effective ways to attract them to your home. Josefina Doumbia is a board member of the Audubon Society of Northern Virginia, Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions, and Nature Forward. She is also a Fairfax Master Naturalist, an Audubon at Home Ambassador, and an active volunteer at Hidden Oaks Nature Center and Plant NOVA Trees. The event will take place at the Visitor Information Center at Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
