About this Collection
The ESA is an incredibly effective law that protects our nation's at-risk species from extinction. To date, 99 percent of species that have received protections under the ESA have avoided extinction.
Today, many people don’t have easy access to nature, and most of us will never see an endangered species. This art aims to help people connect with endangered species by bringing them into people’s homes, onto their screens and into their hearts. The portraits were painted by Cal Robinson, a public affairs specialist in the Service’s Sacramento Fish and Wildlife Office.
