Prescribed Fire at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be conducting prescribed burns at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge near Cheney again this fall and winter. Burning will occur from early October through February, weather depending.

Prescribed fire is a management technique used to improve wildlife habitat, forest health and to reduce the damaging impacts from catastrophic wildfire. Prescribed burning activities should have little to no impact on access to the majority of Refuge public use areas.
