The Cache River National Wildlife Refuge is a 68,993 acre (2014) wildlife refuge in the state of Arkansas managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. Major rivers passing through the refuge include the Cache River and Bayou DeView. The Friends of the Cache River National Wildlife Refuge is incorporated as a non-profit organization with the State of Arkansas and is working to obtain 501(c)(3) status. The mission of the Friends group is to promote conservation and sustainable use of the natural resources, environmental education, and compatible outdoor recreational opportunities at Cache River National Wildlife Refuge. The group’s Vision Statement is “We envision a future in which the Cache River National Wildlife Refuge is valued and supported as it works to conserve diverse and sustainable populations of fish, wildlife, and the habitats that support them for the benefit of all.”
