9:30 am-11am  Family Fishing Clinic, South Gate Recreation Area

11:00 am  Live Raptor Presentation from Raptor Recovery Nebraska, Visitor Center

12:30 pm  Bald Eagle Nest tour, meet at the Visitor Center

1:00 pm -4:00 pm Kid’s Spring Bird Count, meet at the Visitor Center

2:00 pm  Migratory Bird Day and Junior Duck Stamp Talk, Visitor Center

Weekend Wildlife Films

Films are shown each Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 pm at the Visitor Center

May 07 & 08 – Pond & River – Take a twisting journey down the great rivers of the world.  Visit a fresh water pond.  Travel upstream and back down again.  30 minutes

May 14 & 15 –Leaping Lizards –A fast paced, colorful video about lizards.  30 minutes

May 21 & 22 –Travelin’ On…Lewis & Clark Trail –It’s a modern day look at a crusade from sea to shining sea.  Featured locations:  St. Louis, MO;  Council Bluffs, IA;  Bitterroot Mts.,  MT; Astoria, OR.  50 minutes

May 28 & 29 – Birds –What do birds’ songs mean?  How does an owl catch its prey in the dark?  Take an up-close look at the staggering range of sizes, shapes, and habitats of these feathered creatures, and experience the miracle of flight.  30 minutes

June 04 & 05 – Animal Childhood –Watch the trials and tribulations of young animals all over the world, as they prepare to leave home.  60 minutes

June 11 & 12 – Creatures of the Sun –Follow the painted turtle across the four seasons;  through hibernation, mating, birth and death.  30 minutes

June 18 & 19 – Audubon’s Bat Adventures –Learn about bats with excellent photography and narration, for the entire family.  30 minutes

June 25 & 26 – The Snake’s Tale– The truth about how they live is intriguing.  This video shows how snakes mate, give birth and feed; how they protect themselves from danger; and how they sense the world around them.  40 minutes
