Santa Ana NWR is nicknamed the "Jewel of the National Wildlife Refuge System" for its incredible diversity of plants and animals. 

The Refuge first opened in 1943,making it the oldest public nature site in the the Rio Grande Valley. 

Come out and enjoy free admission, free food, games and crafts, special programs and tours, and fun for the whole family!
