Kids Fishing Day

Kids learning to fish at Harris Neck NWR Kids Fishing Day

Join us for a full day of FREE fishing fun, including education stations, demonstrations, lunch and more!

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Georgia Department of Natural Resources are partnering to offer area youth an opportunity to learn about all things fishing! In addition to fishing and crabbing off of refuge piers, participants will also be rotated through a variety of education stations such as casting, knot tying, marine debris, and water/boat safety. Lunch and a refillable, take-home water bottle will also be provided.

The event is limited to 50 kids, ages 5 -12, and pre-registration is required. An adult parent/guardian must accompany each child for the duration of the event. No previous fishing experience is required, and fishing rods, bait, and tackle will be provided. Registration is on a first-come, first served basis; however, a waitlist will be started if necessary.
