There is something new all the time at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge! On select summer Saturdays we will host a variety of programs for kids of all ages. Check out details for each date below. Don't forget to register at (757)301-7329 ext.3106.
Saturday, July 9: Geocaching Adventure, 9:00am-11:00am - Join us for a 1.6-mile exploration of the wildlife refuge. We will use GPS units (or you can use your phone) and navigate to eight spots along the way. At each location we will discover something about the refuge. All ages are welcome!
Saturday, July 23: Junior Ranger Program, 9:00am-11:00am - Do you have a budding naturalist in the family? Back Bay NWR invites our younger visitors, ages 5-10, to work together to complete their Junior Refuge Biologist journey. At the end of the session all participants will have earned a patch!
Saturday, July 30: Incredible Insects, 9:00am-11:00am - Did you know there are over 800,000 species of insects on Earth? This diversity means there are many interesting and incredible traits found in this group of animals. In this program we will investigate insects through games and other hands-on activities. This program is open for ages 7-13.

Saturday, August 27: Freshwater Fishing Clinic hosted by the Izaac Walton League. All ages are welcome for this drop-in clinic from 9:00am-1:00pm.
