38th Annual Summer Lecture Series

Join us for the 38th Annual Summer Lecture Series, held on Wednesday nights in July and August at 7 p.m. This free event is held in the Norm Dicks Visitor Center Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and attendance is limited to 100.

The Nisqually Community Forest (NCF) is a unique experiment in managing a productive forest with multiple values in mind. Join Executive Director Marco Pinchot to learn about the exciting challenges ahead for this project. Marco leads a collaborative effort to manage more than 5,500 acres of working forest in partnership with the Nisqually Indian Tribe and local communities. He is the great-grandson of Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief of the U.S. Forest Service, and has built a career at the intersection of ecological stewardship, sustainable business, and community engagement. Before joining NCF, Marco worked in conservation planning, aquaculture, and environmental education across the Pacific Northwest. He is committed to collaborative stewardship that restores habitats, protects water quality, supports local livelihoods, and honors cultural priorities.
