May is American Wetlands Month!
Learn More(PDF). May was first celebrated as American Wetlands
Month in 1990. This annual celebration has become a
grass roots effort in many States and now involves many
organizations interested in wetlands protection. (Snowy

On April 22, 2008 (Earth Day) the White House Council of
Environmental Quality put out a report detailing the
accomplishments of the President's wetlands initiative -
the conservation of 3.6 million acres of wetlands over
the past four years. The full reporting of this

view Wetlands Data with Google Earth. This viewing method provides
access to Google imagery in combination with the wetlands
digital data.
