The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will take public comment on a Draft Compatibility Determination for rights-of-way (ROW) and rights of access at D’Arbonne National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) from April 20 through May 4, 2026. The proposed ROW at D’Arbonne NWR would expand an existing ROW to provide the space needed for a bridge replacement project on State Highway 143 in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. The bridge provides access to the eastern portion of D’Arbonne NWR and its office. This route also provides access to thousands of commuters daily. For more information you may contact refuge manager Andrew Hammond at 318-726-4222 or andrew_hammond@fws.gov.
