About Us
Established in 1991, the Gulf of Maine Coastal Program is one of 24 Coastal Program offices in the United States. The Program was established by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to build partnerships to identify, protect and restore nationally significant habitat for fish, wildlife and people.
Our vision is an ecologically resilient Gulf of Maine landscape and functioning coastal ecosystems that support fish, wildlife, and people for the benefit of current and future generations.
We work closely with other federal and state agencies, non-government groups, tribes, willing landowners, and other local and regional partners to carry out our mission.
