Two biologists remained on site when the data collection was complete to ensure the wolves got safely back up on their feet when the immobilization drug wore off. This wolf was the last to recover from the effects of the drug. The biologists monitored its temperature to ensure the animal didn't get too cold during the recovery phase and used jackets to cover it while they waited. The wolf's new collar can clearly be seen in the picture.
