Killdeer

Killdeer are commonly seen across North America during the spring, summer, and fall. They make great subjects for young birders studying bird behavior as they are common and often allow close observation. During the spring and summer, Killdeer may give a "broken wing display" acting injured to lead you away from the nest or from young chicks.
