Plan Your Visit

Visit our hatchery and come face to face with the region's underwater friends, explore our nature trail, and come see the beautiful pollinator garden that our local community planted for us. There is a lot to do and see at our hatchery so head over and check us out Monday through Saturday!

Activities

The North Attleboro National Fish Hatchery is proud to showcase our native plant garden, nature trail, and fishing pond within the station property. Designed and planted in 2010, the gardens use naturescapes principles – all of which you can use in your own gardens at home.

We encourage visitors to spend time in the gardens, enjoying their beauty and learning more about the value and importance of native plants, in particular the role and connection they have with pollinators. Pollinators, such as most bees and some birds, bats, and other insects, play a crucial role in flowering plant reproduction and in the production of most fruits and vegetables.

Tours

We provide tours of the hatchery facilities on weekdays with advanced planning—please call (508) 695-5002 to schedule a tour. Tours typically run 45 minutes.

Services

The North Attleboro National Fish Hatchery works to restore American shad. Our hatchery also provides hatchery-raised brook trout to state partners to support local recreational fishing opportunities. We raise three year classes of eastern brook trout, from the Sandwich strain of brook trout, and distribute these trout to the state of Massachusetts for recreational fishing programs. We also raise these brook trout for the National Broodstock Program to ensure brook trout are readily available for valued recreational fishing programs.
