May 1 Volunteer Workday - San Pablo Bay NWR
Come join us for a fun and rewarding volunteer workday at San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge! Help us maintain and improve the beautiful refuge while enjoying the fresh air and stunning views. No experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to lend a hand.
The meeting location will be the Sears Point Trail parking lot. When traveling on Highway 37, enter the refuge by turning on to Reclamation Road. Continue down the road and you will see the parking lot on your left.
Volunteers are strongly encouraged to bring:
- Water
- Lunch and snacks
- A hat and sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Bug repellant
- Weather appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes/boots
The May 1, 2025 workday will focus on weeding at our Dickson Ranch Unit. Volunteers will work with refuge staff to control top priority invasive species invasive species
An invasive species is any plant or animal that has spread or been introduced into a new area where they are, or could, cause harm to the environment, economy, or human, animal, or plant health. Their unwelcome presence can destroy ecosystems and cost millions of dollars.
Learn more about invasive species . All tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) needed by volunteers to conduct activities in this plan will be provided by Refuge staff. They include (but are not limited to) shovels, loppers, hand-shears, hand tools for weeding, bags for disposal of weeds/trash, and gloves.
