The Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge National Wildlife Refuge (FRGRRA) are hosting a Walk for the Wild event to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week, October 8 - 15, 2022. You will have the chance to take a self-guided 5K walk along a loop at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge's trails while helping to raise awareness and support for National Wildlife Refuges & their partners. The Friends will open the visitor center from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm including the Friends Nature Store. For additional information call 218-687-2229 or email friendsofrydellglacial@gmail.com.
How to Participate
Check out our trails and recommended self-guided 5K on October 9th.
Move a distance of 5k (3.1 miles) in nature during the week starting October 8, 2022 through October 15th, 2022. It’s up to you how you move (as long as you do it self-propelled), where in nature you go, and whether you go solo or with friends or family.
During the week, record your activity. Once you’ve completed the 5k distance (3.1 miles), you are officially a Finisher.
OPTIONAL, purchase an official race shirt!
We hope you share your challenge experiences on social media by tagging us @FRGRRA on Facebook and using the hashtags #WalkForTheWild and #WildlifeRefuges and #SupportTheWild
