Crane Tour
Go on “safari” with a guided tour deep into the refuge to catch a glimpse of the Mississippi sandhill crane. Reservations for the tour are required as vehicle space is limited. The tour is approximately 2 hours in length and visitors are encouraged to wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes that they don’t mind getting dirty. Most of the tour will be in a vehicle, but some walking on uneven surfaces may be necessary to see the birds. The cranes are elusive, so sightings are not guaranteed.
Tours typically run through fall and winter months and are staffing dependent.
Currently crane tours are not being offered due to COVID-19 protocols.
