Alamo Road: Open
Road conditions are rough after the last year of storm events. OHVs are prohibited. High clearance and 4WD is required, and visitors are asked to proceed with caution. As of May 27th, 2024, all spur roads, including Joe May Rd, are open.
Conditions through the dry lakebed on Alamo Road are unknown. This area has very fine dirt which causes hazardous driving conditions why dry, obscuring visibility and hidden road hazards like rock and ruts. When wet, it is very sticky and difficult to drive through without becoming stuck. Cell and radio service are very limited, so stranded vehicles will not be able to call for help. If you choose to travel through this area, please be prepared for emergencies and have the tools and knowledge to conduct a self-rescue.
Mormon Well and Gass Peak Roads: OPEN
Mormon Well Rd, Gass Peak Rd, and their spur roads are all open, but road conditions are rough. OHVs are prohibited. High clearance and 4WD is required, and visitors are asked to proceed with caution.
