 NEW: Annual Public Use Permits

An Annual Public Use Permit is now required to hunt, fish, launch boats and utilize campgrounds on Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge. The permit cost is $20.00 for those 16 years of age and over and is free to those 15 years of age and younger.  

The Annual Public Use Permit is not needed to apply for the quota hunts but is required in order to secure your free quota hunt permit, if selected. 

Annual Public Use Permits and YOUTH Annual Public Use Permits will be available and valid from August 1, 2018 through July 31, 2019.

The Annual Public Use Permits are available by logging into your RecAccess account. If you do not have a RecAccess account, you must first register for an account.
 

**ATTENTION: If you have already created an account or someone else has created an account for you: DO NOT CREATE ANOTHER ACCOUNT. If you are at all unsure, contact the refuge office at 870-282-8200. Duplicate accounts can result in disqualification.**

Muzzleloader and Modern Gun Quota Deer Hunts:

Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge has two quota deer hunts per unit, which are the Modern Gun Deer Hunt and the Muzzleloader Deer Hunt. Quota Hunt applications and all payments must be processed online. Read and review the following information regarding all procedures.  

 
Important Dates:

Application Period: The ENTIRE month of August.
Drawing and Hunter Notification: September 10, 2018
If selected, deadline to secure permits: October 5, 2018
Quota Muzzleloader Deer Hunt- October 20-22, 2018
Quota Muzzleloader Deer Hunt Survey Due by November 21, 2018*
Quota Gun Deer Hunt – November 10-12, 2018    
Quota Gun Deer Hunt Survey Due by December 12, 2018*

* Each person who receives a quota hunt permit (whether they hunt or not) MUST complete an online survey within 30 days of the last day of the hunt by logging into their RecAccess account to be eligible to apply for the next year's hunt.


How to Apply for Quota Hunts: 

Online Applications

Applications for quota hunts must be done online. Online applications are the quickest and easiest way to apply and provide you with a confirmation number for your records once your application is complete. 

First time applicants - Each person that does not have a RecAccess account must register for an account before applying or being entered for any hunt. 


 Group Applications 

Up to five hunters may apply as a hunt party. When applying online, you will be able to enter the other members of your group during the online application process. 

Please note, submissions of any person’s name more than once for the same Hunt Type will result in disqualification.

**Unclaimed permits will NOT be available for purchase for either hunt on Dale Bumpers White River NWR. 

**NOTICE: BE SURE TO SELECT EITHER NORTH OR SOUTH UNIT WHEN APPLYING FOR EACH HUNT. IF NO UNIT IS SELECTED AT TIME OF APPLICATION, YOUR UNIT WILL BE RANDOMLY SELECTED FOR YOU.**

Youth Modern Gun and Mobility Impaired Deer Hunts at Cook's Lake: 

There is a Youth Modern Gun Deer Hunt and a Mobility Impaired Deer Hunt that takes place on the Cook's Lake Unit in cooperation with Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation.
