Visitor can enter the refuge through five designated entrances:

Jericho Lane entrance - 1330 White Marsh Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.  Daily, sunrise to sunset, hiking and biking. Parking is located 2 miles east of entry gate.

Washington Ditch entrance - 3076 White Marsh Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. Daily, sunrise to sunset, hiking and biking.  Parking is located 1 mile east of entry gate.

Railroad Ditch entrance (Lake Drummond Wildlife Drive) - 3120 White Marsh Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. Daily, season hours: April 1-Sept 30, 7a-7p; Oct 1-March 31, 7:30a-5p; gate closes one hour early. Hiking, biking, boating, autos. Permit and fee required.  Daily fee for vehicles is $5.00.  Other payment options noted on fee envelope in and kiosk at Permit Station.

Portsmouth Ditch entrance - 3457 Martin Johnson Road, Chesapeake, VA 23323.  Daily, sunrise to sunset, hiking, biking, auto to Big Entry Bridge, Black Bear Trail, parking along side of entry road - do not block gates or road.

Feeder Ditch entrance - Dismal Swamp Canal, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Daily, sunrise to sunset.  BY WATER ONLY entrance to Lake Drummond.

The Lake Drummond Wildlife Drive Auto tour is a self-guided tour that begins at the Railroad Ditch entrance and leads you to the Interior Ditch Pier on Lake Drummond. Enter at 3120 Desert Road, Suffolk, VA.
