Get Involved
Whether you want to further conservation, learn more about nature or share your love of the outdoors, you’ve come to the right place. National fish hatcheries provide many opportunities for you to help your community and fish and wildlife by doing what you love.
Services
The hatchery serves tribal partners and the public by annually raising a minimum of 100,000 sterile rainbow trout for stocking the Lower Colorado River system. It produces catchable 10-12 inch fish for weekly stockings at Willow Beach and seasonal stockings below Davis Dam. Additionally, the facility raises endangered razorback suckers and bonytail chubs to a minimum length of 305 millimeters, tagging them for population monitoring and stocking them along the Lower Colorado River as part of a long-term conservation agreement through 2044.
About
Since 1871, National Fish Hatcheries have been applying science-based approaches to conservation challenges. We work with our partners and engage the public to conserve, restore, and enhance fish and other aquatic resources for the continuing benefit of the American people. Conservation is at the heart of what we do, and we recognize that we do this work for the American people–both the present generation who benefit today and future generations who will inherit our legacy of conserving America’s aquatic resources.
Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery and satellite station Achii Hanyo Native Fish Rearing Facility serve the native endangered Razorback sucker and Bonytail chub fish species. Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery also provides tribal and recreational Rainbow trout stockings.
