Bitter Lake NWR will be in the pathway of the 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse! The Visitor Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the refuge is open 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset. The refuge auto tour route will provide a perfect place for you to view the annular solar eclipse and the fire circle. Eclipse glasses will be needed to view the solar eclipse safely, which are for sale in the Friends of Bitter Lake Nature Store. Feel free to take a picnic and enjoy the refuge and the eclipse event in the sky! Times for the eclipse starting and ending are in the link below.
