A diverse class of children look through microscopes on a table set up outside in a forest

The refuge serves as an outdoor laboratory for teachers and students from schools, universities, and other educational institutions. A refuge permit may be required depending upon the size of the group and the purpose of the visit. Wildlife-oriented interpretive programs and special events are periodically offered at the refuge. Many of these programs are wheelchair accessible. For further information on these programs and activities, visit the 'Events' page, contact refuge headquarters, or visit the refuge Facebook page.
