The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge offers a variety of camping opportunities, which can be booked online with Recreation.gov or in the Rec.gov app. All camping within the refuge is available by reservation only.
Doris Campground
- Standard non-electric site: ~$14/night
- Electric hookup site: ~$22 - $24/night
- Walk‑in tent site: ~$12/night
- Group Site w/shelter (electric): ~$40/night
- Group Site non-electric: ~$40/night
- Reservation processing fee: ~$8 per booking
Doris Campground is a modern camping facility with individual and group sites.
Fawn Creek Youth Campground (Primitive Group Site)- Designated Youth Groups ONLY
- Recreation use fee: $30 per night (tent‑only, non‑electric site)
- Reservation processing fees: $8
Fawn Creek Campground is reserved for organized youth groups through the university level.
Charon’s Garden Wilderness (Backcountry Permits)
- Administrative permit fee: $10
- Per-person fee: $5
- Backcountry Camping is available in the Charon's Garden Wilderness Area.
