A law enforcement officer speak with hunters.

From mid-September through the winter months, the refuge operates hunting programs for turkey, deer and waterfowl at various units. In addition to State of Connecticut hunting requirements, there are special hunting regulations in effect at the refuge. Every hunter is required to have a signed hunt brochure/map while on the refuge engaged in this activity. Download hunting brochures/maps for different units here.

We also manage hunting and other activities at the GREAT THICKET NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE in southeastern Connecticut. The hunt brochure/map for the Al Harvey Road parcel of Great Thicket is available for download if you scroll down near the end of this page.
