At Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge

Refuges offer a unique perspective of American lands, due in part to the remoteness of various public lands like the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). Whereas the National Parks are heavily trafficked (and for excellent reason), refuges are aptly named for the tranquility they provide to visitors who want to see wildlife and vegetation of countless species across the country.

At Stillwater NWR, you can find unique photographic moments of the Great Basin region, which can be very demanding of its residents that continue to thrive under the harsh summer sun, as well as in the subzero temperatures of a high desert winter.

Capture your Stillwater NWR experience by visiting the two photo blinds at Foxtail Lake and Tule Trail. Here, you may photograph birds, mammals, and reptiles that rely on the many wetlands around us.
