HACCP Planning to Prevent the Spread of Invasive Species: Train the Trainer

COURSE SESSION

Target Audience:

Resource managers experienced with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point planning that are interested in becoming certified HACCP instructors.

Summary and Objectives:

This train-the-trainer course is designed to certify conservation planners to deliver the 2-day Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Planning to Prevent the Spread of Invasive Species (CSP2131) course. HACCP planning is a structured process that assesses a natural resource management activity, identifies possible risks, and facilitates the removal or reduction of non-target species. Participants will learn the fundamentals of effective communication in the classroom and explore various methods, techniques, and training aids designed for adult learning styles. To receive certification, participants will have to complete this course and assist an experienced instructor in delivering a 2-day HACCP training course in the field.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Apply principles of adult learning.
  • Deliver skill-based course objectives that meet the learner's needs.
  • Apply instructional objectives and lesson plans in a training session.
  • Demonstrate a variety of methods to enhance instruction.
  • Use visual and written aids to support instruction.
  • Guide a diverse team to develop an effective HACCP plan that will prevent the spread of non-target species.
  • Deliver a 2-day HACCP training course.
