Big Oaks Conservation Society

The Big Oaks Conservation Society is the non-profit (501c3) support group of Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge.The membership consists of people who care about wildlife and who want to make Big Oaks a place where visitors can connect with wildlife and nature.  The Big Oaks Conservation Society works closely with the refuge staff in their efforts to educate visitors about the wildlife and natural habitats of the refuge.  Members have the opportunity to get involved with the management of Indiana's largest national wildlife refuge national wildlife refuge
A national wildlife refuge is typically a contiguous area of land and water managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service  for the conservation and, where appropriate, restoration of fish, wildlife and plant resources and their habitats for the benefit of present and future generations of Americans.
