Welcome to the
Crescent Lake / North Platte
National Wildlife Refuge Complex
Treat yourself to an electronic tour of Crescent Lake NWR which will describe the refuge's history, what to see, what to do, hunting and fishing opportunities and general information about the area. Photos are included to give you a feel for the sandhill country of Nebraska and to show some of the wildlife and vegetation of the area.
The North Platte Refuge is made up of Lake Minatare, Winter's Creek Lake, Lake Alice and Stateline Island in the North Platte River. While portions of Winter's Creek Lake and Lake Alice are closed to all public entry, the remainder is open to a variety of public uses most of the year. Detailed information can be obtained through the North Platte National Wildlife Refuge pamphlet.
The Refuge Complex is managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, an agency of the Department of the Interior. Our mission is to conserve, protect and enhance fish and wildlife and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.
