Warm Springs Fish Health Center was established in 1989 with the capability to provide state-of-the-art fish disease diagnostic and fish health certification services to a variety of national fish hatcheries, state fish hatcheries, and private fish farms.

The fish health center also provide triploid grass carp inspections to private fish farmers in the southeastern states.

National Fish Hatcheries have been responding to conservation challenges affecting America’s fish and other aquatic species for nearly 150 years. Fish production and habitat conservation continue to be an irreplaceable tools in managing and restoring fisheries.

Warm Springs Fish Health Center works hand in hand with our regional hatcheries, numerous state hatcheries, tribal hatcheries and private fish farm owners to ensure the aquatic species reared and housed in those facilities are receiving the highest standard of care.

What We Do

Fish health staff works with hatchery staff to help maintain a pathogen free water supply, prepare and implement effective biosecurity plans, ensure that the all feed is high quality and pathogen free, and address animal health, husbandry, and water quality concerns
