Volunteer Position Overview
About This Position
Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge is over 51,000 acres with management objectives to provide habitat for wintering waterfowl. The refuge is actively searching for a visitor services volunteer to primarily assist with front desk reception, informing visitors about the refuge and its public use opportunities, assisting with the operations of the refuge on site bookstore and assisting with public environmental educational events. The refuge is also seeking a volunteer to perform facilities and grounds maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, power washing, small engine maintenance, boat dock maintenance, trash pickup and depending on skills and knowledge some work may include light carpentry, electrical and plumbing. A minimum of 24hours of work is required per volunteer per week. In exchange for work performed, the refuge will provide a covered full hookup, RV pad, laundry, work vehicle and tools. The refuge is seeking volunteer to commit to 3 months minimum of work. Longer time period is also desired.
