James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge Seeks Comments on Draft Comprehensive Conservation Plan and Environmental Assessment
The James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge draft comprehensive conservation plan has been released by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for public review and comment. When final, the plan will guide management of the Refuge for the next 15 years.

A public meeting will be held July 14, 2011, at the Kahuku Community Center, 56-576 Kamehameha Highway, Kahuku from 5:00-8:00 p.m. An informal, open-house setting will allow interested parties to drop in anytime; Refuge staff will be available to answer questions, provide a brief overview of the draft management alternatives, accept comments from the public.

Copies of the full document and/or a summary (planning update) can be obtained at the Refuge Complex office in Hale'iwa (see address below); or you can request copies by calling the Refuge at (808) 637-6330. The document is available online at http://www.fws.gov/jamescampbell/planning.html.

If you cannot attend this public meeting, you may still provide written comments on this draft plan by letter, fax, or email. All comments must be emailed or postmarked by August 1, 2011 to be considered.
