USFWS Announces Draft Lewis County Family Forest HCP
The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) today announced the availability for comment of an application for a Habitat Conservation Plan for small forest landowners in Lewis County, Washington. The plan is proposed to provide the landowners incidental take coverage for seven species of fish and wildlife protected under the Federal Endangered Species Act and for 70 other unlisted species.

The documents noticed today in the Federal Register by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service include an application for incidental take permits, a draft Habitat Conservation Plan, a preliminary draft environmental impact statement prepared by the applicant and a draft implementation agreement. The applications were submitted by the Lewis County Board of Commissioners.

The public is invited to submit comments and any other relevant information.
