25 Critical Habitat Units Proposed for 99 Threatened and Endangered Plants on Oahu
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service today released the last in a series of seven proposed critical habitat designations for threatened and endangered Hawaiian plant species. If made final, this proposed rule would establish 25 critical habitat units for 99 threatened and endangered plant species on the of Oahu, encompassing 111,364 acres of private, state, and federal lands.
"The Service will continue to work with stakeholders to modify or clarify boundaries, eliminate inappropriate areas, or make other adjustments as appropriate before issuing a final rule. We are committed to minimizing land use conflicts," said Anne Badgley, regional director of the Service
