About Jim Unsworth

Jim Unsworth has worked as Assistant Regional Director of Science Applications for the Pacific Region since 2019. Prior to joining the Fish and Wildlife Service, Jim worked for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Jim started his career as a wildlife research biologist working on black bears, elk, and mule deer. He continued his career in a variety of management and administrative positions and was Director of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Jim received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Wildlife Management from the University of Idaho and a M.S. degree from Montana State University.
