Mexican Wolf

More Information

Mexican wolf: Progress toward recovery graph.

The recovery of the Mexican wolf is a binational effort between the United States and Mexico. In 2017, the Service finalized the Mexican Wolf Recovery Plan, First Revision, in collaboration with agencies and experts from both countries. The revised recovery plan provides the Service’s long-term conservation and recovery goals for the Mexican wolf. In the United States, we will contribute to the recovery of the Mexican wolf by continuing our interagency reintroduction effort in the MWEPA. Mexico will contribute to recovery with a population of Mexican wolves in northern Mexico.

For additional information on the status of the Mexican wolf, see our annual, quarterly, and monthly reports, here: https://www.fws.gov/southwest/es/mexicanwolf/recoverydocuments.html.
