Kids Fishing Rodeo Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery (GA)

Rainy weather did not stop more than 500 people from attending the Kids Fishing Rodeo at Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery on June 8, 2019. Rock Creek was stocked with beautiful rainbow and brook trout, including some fish weighing as much as 4 lbs. A free hotdog lunch was provided to participants courtesy of Friends of the Hatchery, Trout Unlimited of Blue Ridge #696 and Blairsville #692, Save-A-Lot, Coca Cola, and Pepsi Cola. Fishing rods and reels, tackle, mountain trail bikes and a kayak were given away courtesy of Friends of the Hatchery, Blairsville Trout Unlimited, Blairsville Jeep Club, and Cane Creek & Amicalola Long Beards Archery. Kids also participated in a scavenger hunt. Partnering exhibitors included: Georgia Department of Natural Resources (Laser/BB Gun Shoot); Georgia Forestry Commission; Friends of the Hatchery; Trout Unlimited #692 (Fly Tying/Fly Rod Casting); Trout Unlimited #696 (Fly Rod Casting Game Give-a-way); Face Painting; UGA Deer Study.
