Freedom of Information Act

The Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) is a law that gives the public the right to access information and records from federal government agencies. There is a great deal of information readily available without filing a FOIA request. Before initiating a FOIA request, check to see if the information is available on our website or via existing websites. You may also call our office (916-930-5603) for assistance on finding the information you want.

Any FOIA request must be submitted through the appropriate Regional FOIA officer. The Bay Delta FWO office is served by the regional office in Portland for FOIAs. Region contact information is listed on the right.
