Cooperative Agriculture Opportunities at J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge

J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge near Upham, North Dakota, has cooperative agricultural opportunities for prescribed haying on the refuge in 2023. The haying units range in size from 25 to 75 acres and the up to 47 special use permits awarded will be valid for 5 years.

Applications for the hay lottery and maps showing unit locations will be available, starting February 1, 2023, at the Refuge Office at J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge, 681 Salyer Road, Upham, North Dakota 58789. All hay units and application information will also be posted on the refuge websiteApplications must be received by Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Applications may be submitted by hand delivery to the Refuge Office.

Successful applicants will be determined by a public lottery at the J. Clark Salyer Refuge Office at 10:00 AM CST on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Successful hay lottery applicants do not have to be present for the drawing. All applicants will be notified by March 10, 2023.
