The Cooperative Recovery Initiative (CRI) was established in 2013 to restore and recover federally listed species on National Wildlife Refuges and surrounding lands. CRI is cross-programmatic, combining resources of the National Wildlife Refuge System, Endangered Species, Partners for Fish and Wildlife, Fisheries, Migratory Birds and the Office of the Science Advisor to implement large-scale conservation efforts to address the Service’s highest endangered species priorities.
