  Recreation and Education Opportunities

Hunting - The Refuge is open to small game and migratory bird hunting. Permits and special regulations apply; please contact Wheeler NWR headquarters for specific information.

Wildlife Observation
Wildlife Observation and Photography - The Refuge has 2.5 miles of roads/trails that are open for hiking and bicycles that passes through native grasslands, upland hardwoods, and agricultural land. No vehicular access is allowed on Key Cave NWR.

Outdoor facilities are open daily, dawn to dusk (year-round).

Entrance Fees
There is no entrance fee for use of the Refuge. A free hunting permit is required for Refuge hunts.
