![]() ![]() Structured programs are available for schools, universities, clubs and professional groups. If you are interested in arranging a program, please write or call the refuge for additional information.
![]() Fishing is permitted in refuge lakes, but may be closed seasonally to protect nesting bald eagles. Only electric motors are permitted in refuge lakes. Check current refuge regulations before fishing. In addion to seasonal fishing in the interior lakes, year-round surf fishing is permitted, except in signed Bird Use/Closed Areas
![]() Portions of the refuge are open to hunting white-tailed deer, feral pig, and sambar deer. Permits and special regulations apply. Please contact the refuge headquarters for specific information.

![]() Hiking and wildlife observation are permitted along refuge roads. Roads running north-south are numbered: roads running east-west are labeled with letters. Shelling is permitted on the Gulf Beaches.
![]() Visitor Center- 8:00-4:00 Monday - Friday The refuge is open for general public use from legal sunrise to legal sunset every day except during the hunts, wildfires, or when prescribed burining is being conducted.
