The best time for viewing wildlife is early morning and late afternoon during mid-November through January. Pintail, mallard, gadwall, shovelers and white-fronted geese are a few of the migratory waterfowl that can be seen. Herons, egrets, pied-billed grebes, white pelicans, northern harriers, and red-winged black birds are a few of the resident birds.
