Staff and volunteers will establish an invasive species monitoring program for the refuge. The targeted species are wild pig (Sus scrofa), Chinese tallowtree ( Sapium sebiferum), and Chinaberry (Melia azedarach). Refuge staff will train volunteers to identify each species and to use the equipment properly. Volunteers will then use of GPS, trail cameras, and data collection and analysis software to photograph and document the occurrence of these species on the refuge. Then, the data will be use to remove documented plants/animals and control the future spread of each species.
