Youth Conservation Corp (YCC) Summer Positions 

Julia Butler Hansen Refuge for the Columbian White-tailed Deer is recruiting for summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Crew. We hire teens to work 40 hours/week from mid-June through mid-August to work, learn and earn together by doing projects that further develop and conserve the nation's resources. YCC crew members will earn minimum wage. Work projects include a variety of refuge activities, such as trail maintenance, painting, invasive plant control, office and grounds maintenance, and other physical outdoor work activities. YCC crew members learn about refuge wildlife and management, as well as conservation careers. 


To be eligible to apply for the Youth Conservation Corps, the following criteria must be met: 

Be between the ages of 15-18 during the summer employment period. 

Be able to provide your own transportation daily to and from the Refuge Office. 

Be willing to perform physical outdoor work activities. 

Work the entire season (8 weeks).
