All first-time participants in the Tualatin River NWR youth waterfowl hunt (including non-hunting supervisors and observers who will be present in the blind during the hunt) must attend a mandatory orientation at the refuge prior to their hunt date. The orientations are October 31st, 2020 and November 21, 2020, from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Riverboat Unit hunt site.

In previous years, mentors and retrieving dogs have been made available to participants via the application process. Due to COVID-19, this will not be an option for the 2020 youth hunt program to ensure the safety of participants and volunteers. Additional changes, including cancellation of hunts, may be necessary depending on the status of COVID-19 restrictions. Any new information will be posted to this site as soon as it becomes available.

We thank you for your support and patience.
