Youth Waterfowl Hunt

2019 Youth Waterfowl Hunt Dates: November 2nd, 10th, 16th, 24th and 30th. December 8th, 14th, 22nd, and 28th.
Youth Hunt 147x98 Youth waterfowl hunting at the Riverboat Unit provides safe and quality opportunities to harvest game while introducing young people to the hunting heritage, education opportunities, and mentorships. The waterfowl hunt program is operated in a manner that is consistent and compatible with the purposes and goals of the refuge.

Hunt Details

Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge offers youth hunters ages 17 and under with an opportunity to hunt ducks, geese, and coots during youth hunt days only. All other species of wildlife not listed are protected.

2019 Dates: November 2nd, 10th, 16th, 24th and 30th; December 8th, 14th, 22nd, and 28th

Time: Check in 90 minutes prior to legal hunt time. Check out no later than 1:00pm.

Location: Riverboat Unit of Tualatin River NWR. See map for specific location.

Cost: This is a FREE activity 

Registration: The application period for the 2019 hunt is now open and runs August 15-October 1  Click here to access the Youth Waterfowl Hunt application.  A confirmation letter with a blind number and date selected will be sent to you a minimum of 14 days in advance of the first hunt day of the season (November 2nd, 2019).

All first-time participants in the Tualatin River NWR youth waterfowl hunt (including non-hunting supervisors and observers who will be present in the blind during the hunt) must attend a mandatory orientation at the refuge prior to their hunt date. The orientations are October 26th and November 23rd from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Tualatin River NWR Visitor Center — 19255 SW Pacific Hwy, Sherwood, OR 97140.
