Applications for turkey hunts are available in early January. The drawing is held the last week of February. Quota applications for deer hunts are available in early July and the drawing is held the last week of August.

Hunting is permitted on approximately 34,000 acres of the refuge during refuge specific seasons. All hunters must possess applicable valid state hunting licenses in order to hunt on the Refuge along with a Refuge special use permit. In addition to Federal regulations, State Game and Fish laws and regulations are adopted and in effect unless they have been further restricted by Federal laws and regulations. Hunting regulations are designed to protect the sportsman and wildlife populations. Our regulations supplement the general regulations, which govern hunting on National Wildlife Refuges as set forth in Title 50, Code 32 of Federal Regulations.

The Piedmont Hunting and Fishing Regulations brochure is published annually and becomes available in early July.

Deer and turkey quota hunt applications must be obtained from the refuge office. Requests can be made by phone, mail, or e-mail. Please provide complete postal address when you make your request. Please specify Piedmont or Bond Swamp NWR, specify type of hunt, species, and number needed.
