Found Wildlife Information

512RacoonUnhappyTreedCoonFWSJamesLyonThe Refuge is not equipped to take in or care for injured or orphaned wildlife. It is illegal to bring any wildlife to a refuge, or remove any plants or wildlife from a refuge.

Baby Animals
When finding a baby animal it is generally best to leave it alone. Often the animal is not orphaned, and the parent may be out getting food, or watching the baby from a distance. Never pick up baby animals and remove them from their natural environment!


Injured Wildlife
When encountering injured wildlife, please contact the appropriate wildlife rehabilitator in your area. For a list of rescues visit  http://wildlife.rescueshelter.com/Florida


Alligators
To report a nuisance alligator call 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286).


Domestic and Feral Animals
If the animal is a domestic or feral animal, such as a dog, cat, or horse, please contact the nearest Humane Society, Animal Services Office, or Animal Control Agency.
