Wetland Habitat

More than 42,000 people volunteer their time and ideas each year to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  Whether they work on the land, in a visitor center or with youth, they contribute to the conservation mission that reaches back more than a century.

We welcome volunteers interested in helping us at the Northern Tallgrass Prairie National Wildlife Refuge! Volunteer opportunities range from indoor tasks like clerical assistance, computer support and building maintenance to outdoor jobs including biological surveys, field maintenance projects and habitat management work. Becoming a volunteer is easy. Just call or e-mail the refuge office (320-273-2191, to find out who the contact person is for the unit in your area. Then get in touch with them, complete the volunteer application form and let us know you interests. We look forward to working with you.
